Some motorcycles are built to turn heads. Others are built to break records. This one was made to do both. Based on the Harley-Davidson Low Rider platform, the build turns the factory cruiser into a purpose-driven drag and performance motorcycle. The M8 131ci engine, still under development, stays at the center with a Cycle-Rama 557 cam and an SPB Fab exhaust, but nearly everything around it has been reimagined for speed, stability and visual impact.
The bike rides on JRi racing cartridges up front and a JRi racing mono shock in the rear. Raceworks supplied the extended Softail swingarm, the chain conversion and the primary cover, along with the winglet, front fender, belly pan, headlight cover and fender struts. Rick’s Motorcycles triple trees, risers and handlebar and R.E.D. Racing rear controls set the riding position.
Brembo radial calipers front and rear work on Rick’s Motorcycles performance rotors with Spiegler brake lines. A Baja S2 light up front and a Kellermann 3-1 in the rear complete the bike. SPEED RIDER was inspired by the NORTHLAW drag racing Softail build and is sponsored by Raceworks, Rick’s Motorcycles and JRi Shocks. See the SPEED RIDER build page.
